World’s Two Largest Economies: One is Surging and the Other is Stumbling | China & US Economy | Econ
The diverging paths of the U.S. and Chinese economies are evident. The U.S. economy is thriving 🚀, with the fastest growth in the G7, rising jobs, wages, and productivity 📈, supported by strong economic and defense partnerships, innovation, and soft power. In contrast, China's economy faces significant challenges ⚠️, including weak demand, declining productivity, a shrinking workforce, and complex regional relations. Despite substantial trade and investment in the Indo-Pacific, China's flawed diplomacy and economic dependencies pose risks. The U.S. must continue to engage economically with the region while addressing domestic political polarization to maintain its leadership 🌐. Meanwhile, China grapples with the question of whether it can accept a role that is less than dominant in its relations with neighbors. So, why are these economic giants moving in different directions, and what does the future hold for them? 🤔

4:22 this map is just pathetically wrong. The Boer republics were not located in Mozambique (which was Portuguese), they were located in modern-day South Africa. The use of modern borders is bad enough but to place the Dutch somewhere they categorically were not is hilariously wrong.

Canada has furthered neoliberalism for the past 4 decades and with it has expanded the gap between the rich and poor. This has essentially closed off self-actualization for the many while the few privileged are coddled by selective state socialism. In the meantime (and it is a very mean time for the poor), socialized infrastructure built up over decades has been sold off to private interests and class divisions heightened. It is a shystem that is neither sustainable nor ethical but because neoliberalism furthers ideas of selfishness, most Canadians don't care because they believe the lie that the individual is responsible for twisted economic and poltical policies.

Please, when referring to skilled workers, do not make the mistake to assume that the 50-60 year old German workers contribute anything to their respective firms. They only cost money and firms are looking for ways to get rid of them. Their replacement is missing for the last 15 years. The government has to take the money from boomers and reinvest it into the new generation if she wants to survive. Net contributers are leaving the country quickly

Depressingly true. Patriotism is for the weeds, I'm sick of this country, the outright negligence of the government is only matched in stupidity and naivety by their voters closed mindedness. An entire generation's ability to thrive and survive has been wasted. Thanks to Brexit, even the hope of emigrating is harder. There is literally not one aspect of British life that is better now than pre 2008. Labour screwed up, yes, but dear god what on earth have the Conservatives done since?! They've turned a broken arm into an amputation. Yet the people persisted with this death march. We never learn, the Conservatives are hapless, and the "Reform" are rotten to the core. God help us, even if we don't deserve it.

This video correctly pointed out 2 problems Vietnam needs to solve in order to grow faster. And they are not easy solutions to solve: 1. Aging population: Vietnam needs to encourage people to give birth more. Vietnam should increase tax to have more money supporting children and families. 2. Low productivity: We need to be aggressive in improving our education system, focusing on basic knowledge, discipline, in-dept skills, and to have English/Chinese languages studied as early as possible (at 3rd grade).

People try to predict the economy not realizing it is not a capitalistic market, its a command economy, central planning! my concern is, instead of having much dollar in bank that could lose value to inflation, do I save in gold to reserve and grow wealth for now, or just hang on?

truth is that gold serves as an inflation hedge in the long run, but not profitable in the short run. only thing you can predict is a strong effort of wealth transfer from the people to the powerful. luckily some folks find solution in financial advisors

After experiencing the hole situation after the collapse of the Greek economy,i can say that only the numbers are "growing" statistically but the reality is far different.. Greece is changing totally nothing can be done the country has changed hands... after the crisis is obviously being governd mainly by the German oppressors not the first time in our history.... who easily can manipulate the statistics and governments in Greece. Surely most of the growth is coming out from the sales of national assets and in the near future when there will be nothing more to be sold the downfall will be aggressive and painful again... I do not care about your well made numbers ,you better go out there and ask this pour citizens about the standard of living about the insane loss of property....the anger about injustice and political incompetence through all aspects of our lives.... Greece will never be able to stand at her own feet will be sold cheaply and will be again in a very difficult situation since the lenders are there waiting for another chance to grab whatever they can..... Society is sick so European union is.... We have been crusified by them sodomized and robbed.... That's the bitter reality..... Unfortunately

Firstly, there is no valid evident on the lack of freedom in Vietnam and stop blaming everything on communism. Secondly, it was not until 1989 that Vietnam was not be attacked by Chinese anymore. Furthermore, Vietnam was isolated and not be able to join the global market until 1994, when the United State eventually lifted the embargo on Vietnam. Formal normalization occurred in one year after-1995. Therefore, it is clear that Vietnam has a very limited time to develop, just about 30 years. Making comparison between Vietnam's economy and other Asian nations is apparently irrational. For example, as Thailand has not be invaded since 1945, this country has almost... 80 years.

Utter bull. Monetary inflation is caused when fiat money is created out of thin air, based on nothing (ie not related to an increase in physical production) and then loaned out at interest. This usually happens involuntarily. Our governments borrow and we have to pay the interest. We have no say in this process. Let's think. How much currency was created in the last 4 years, since they locked everyone up and closed down all those small businesses? That's inflation, and that's the actual tax that we pay. It has nothing to do with demand, or savings, or anything else. Inflation is a product of currency creation. It's actually a devaluation of the currency and not an increase in the value of goods and services. It takes time to trickle down (about 4 years) from the bond market, to securities, to us, but now all that extra currency is chasing less goods because production is not yet back to where it was before they put us all out of business. So, more dollars chasing less stuff, guess what - the dollars lose value and prices go up. It's really quite simple. Inflation-adjusted, we have been in a recession since at least January. Even if these numbers quoted are to be believed, a GDP growth of 1.8% with inflation at 3.2% means a that there is less physical trade and a contraction of at least 1.4%. Australians are suffering. It's because more hours worked are translating to less stuff and more stress. That's an economic recession. If the same amount of effort is bringing in less reward, then the economy is going backwards. Please don't patronize us, things are reallybad. They're bad, and getting worse, every day.
